Guilt Free Milkshake

White Flowers

It's national milkshake day today and so what else does a chocolate milkshake lover have on her mind all day?! You guessed it! Growing up as a child one of my favorite past times was enjoying a big McDonald's ice cream sundae (and french fries because who can go to McDonald's and not order fries? ....Not this girl!).  Although I may not eat like I used to and my diet looks significantly different, and all for the better, I still have that same sweet tooth that loves an occasional indulgence...especially after a long hard day. Life is about balance and although I'm a firm believer in eating healthy I also recognize that depriving oneself is a recipe for disaster (and misery....so seriously relax a little). In my pursuit to better steward my health and body I wanted to find a way to enjoy the same treats I used to without all the added sugar.

You might assume that being sugar and dairy free is boring but I'm here to prove you wrong and show you how you can enjoy "treats" without all the added sugar and dairy that causes so much inflammation and a cascade of negative health affects...not to mention inches to your waist line (yeah...no thanks!).  It's a hot day here in Georgia and although it's the middle of September Autumn is nowhere to be found and it seems Fall didn't get the memo yet to cool down. So this cold and frosty milkshake was a welcome dessert on this hot and way to steamy day.
